Training aims

General objectives

To train in airway control using the fiberscope and resolve high-complexity situations associated with controlling and maintaining the airway unobstructed during critical medical or surgical situations and during perianaesthetic interventions.

Specific objectives

To perform nonselective intubation using a fiberscope.
To conduct a lung or lobar isolation (double-lumen tubes / bronchial blockers).
To conduct a fiberscope-assisted tracheal tube exchange.
To solve problems in the bronchial tree (atelectasis, foreign bodies, percutaneous tracheostomy assistance).
To perform assisted intubation using other devices (LM, ILM, Combitube, Cobra-PLA, laryngeal tube, retrograde intubation on fiberscope).
To explore the respiratory tract by tracheal intubation using periglottic devices.
Correct fiberscope maintenance.
